Marriage involves three parties: the bride, the groom, and God. When two Christians receive the sacrament of matrimony, God is with them, witnessing and blessing their marriage covenant. A sacramental marriage is permanent; only death can break it. This holy union is a living symbol of the relationship between Christ and the Church (Eph. 5:21-33).
The Church has a rich tradition in its teaching on sacramental marriage and covenantal union. The Old Testament authors write of God making a covenant with the chosen people and promising them that they will never be forsaken. The New Testament authors write of Jesus as the new covenant and compare the relationship of Jesus with the Church to the relationship of a husband and wife. The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership for the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring.
Weddings are celebrated at noon and 2:00 pm on Saturdays, and on Friday evenings, on a first come, first served basis, with some exceptions during holiday seasons and other parish events.
The process to be married in the Catholic Church requires an investment of time in preparation and an active practice of the faith. We recommend that couples contact the parish one year before a planned wedding date to initiate this process.

Newly engaged couples should contact Director of Liturgy, Maggie Pernice at 414-258-2604 ext. 23, as soon as possible to start the process of marriage preparation and scheduling.
