Holy Orders is the sacrament by which bishops, priests and deacons are ordained and entrusted by Christ to serve the Church (2 Tim. 1:6-7) as pastors, teachers, and spiritual fathers who heal, feed, and strengthen God's people—especially through preaching and the administration of the sacraments. These individuals receive the power and grace to perform their sacred duties. The apostles were ordained by Jesus at the Last Supper so that others could share in his priesthood.

Don't we all long for that kind of clarity? Nonetheless, our faith assures us that God is always showing his will to us, consistently, assuredly, irrefutably. We are not alone on this journey; Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit to guide us on the way to read the "signs" that point us in the right direction.
