Christ King and Saint Bernard Parishes have formed a long-term partnership of relationships and service to the area of the City of Milwaukee served by All Saints Parish, located at 4051 N. 25th Street, just north of Capitol Drive. We seek to expand the vision of parish boundaries through direct service and friendship, with a focus on this geographical area of Milwaukee. We seek to grow closer to Christ through service to the poor, oppressed and marginalized. The tasks of the partnership include: 
Commit to daily personal prayer for the health, safety, and vibrancy of the City of Milwaukee, especially the area in the vicinity of All Saints and Saint Martin Parishes.

• Be available as "first responders," especially during the week, to the needs of the parishes, their ministry, and the charitable outreach connected to the parishes.
• Be leaders in developing authentic relationships and friendships with those who share differing cultural, racial, and economic backgrounds.
• Evangelization of all peoples, especially through the charitable mission of the Catholic Church.
• Embrace an ever-growing love of the Sunday Eucharist, with continued depth of understanding of the connection between the Body of Christ and the responsibility to social justice in our local community.
• A continued growth in understanding the Church's official teachings in the area of social justice.
• Recruit broader assistance for tasks and initiatives related to the partnership.

Our main undertaking in the partnership has been working together to revitalize the twice-weekly All Saints evening meal program through financial support and on-site serving. We volunteer at All Saints parish alongside their parishioners on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for approximately two and a half hours (4-6:30 PM). When we first began helping, there were 50-75 meals served. Currently, there are over 225!

The onsite responsibilities include pre-meal setup, guest greeting, meal service and post meal cleanup and dishwashing. Volunteers are asked to bring a case of bottled water. We are in need of 8 volunteers each Tuesday and Thursday evening.

Lent ends at sundown. This Mass is like no other; we experience an intimacy to Christ, an intimacy to one another that is unequaled!

This service is a continuation of what we began last evening but the tone is completely different. We stand in awe of the Cross of Christ: an instrument of torture, the instrument of our salvation, the symbol of God’s unbounding love for us.

The culmination of the celebrations of the past two days, this is the most important liturgy of the year. It is long but that’s the point: we need time to celebrate the mystery of our faith! The church needs you to be there, on this night of nights, to keep vigil, to bear witness to Christ’s Resurrection.

Please be generous in supporting the All Saints, as well as the Northside and Southside Meal Programs. Your monetary donations can be dropped in the SHARE  boxes at church entrances or ONLINE (choose the “other” category and include “SHARE Meal Programs” in the note field) at any time! 

In addition, all are invited and encouraged to serve on-site at the meal programs. Gathering to serve the hungry not only addresses a physical need but also answers the sacred call to live out the core values of the Catholic faith.  In the words of Jesus, “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat” (Matthew 25:35). Each day provides an opportunity to act as Christ’s hands and feet in this world, bringing nourishment to the body and spirit of those who need it most. Join in the collective effort of being the Church, united in serving the most vulnerable in the community.

• Our Menu remains the same: Ham & Cheese served on Sciortino's Rolls (purchased thanks to your monetary donations that come through the Christ King SHARE Sunday collection (and other direct donations made to SVDP Meal Program), Jello and or Fruit Cups, Hard Boiled Eggs, Sweet Breads (individually sliced), Pickles, Individual Mayonnaise Packets, Vegetables are supplied by Great Harvest for every Meal.
  AS always, I am happy to take any other donations you want me to bringdown (clean blankets, jeans, boots, socks, jackets, sweatshirts)

Food Donation Drop sites by 3pm are as follows:

• Sweet breads; mayo, mustard, ranch dressing: Murtha, 2643 N. 89th St.  
• Cut and peeled carrots & cucumbers; sweet & dill pickles Richburg, 2525 N. 81st St.
• All items: Anderson, 9515 W. Hadley St.

• Packets of mustard, mayo and ranch dressing are preferred to larger containers.  
• Styrofoam carryout containers, plastic silverware & napkin donations will continue to be requested for guests who prefer not to dine in.  These can be dropped at any of the locations too.
• Donations of "Meals in a Can" (Ravioli, Soup, Corned Beef Hash, Pork & Beans, Mac n Cheese, Ramen Noodles, etc.) are requested for their "Community Shelf" as SVdP is able to help feed their guests even if their guests cannot make the carryout pick up time.
