The first and fundamental sacrament and the gate to the other sacraments, Baptism is the purifying and sanctifying sacrament of rebirth. It is the means by which its recipients are incorporated into the church in a sacramental bond of unity.
The Sacrament of Baptism welcomes a person into our faith and our community. Parents and godparents promise to raise their children in the faith of Jesus Christ, and start to actively live their faith as a model for their children.
Baptisms are celebrated on the first weekend of each month during the Masses, and after the third and fourth 10:30 a.m. Sunday Masses on other weekends. This schedule may vary depending on liturgical evenings. Baptisms are not scheduled during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
Pre-baptism class is available monthly at Christ King as well as at nearby St. Bernard and St. Pius parishes, both part our Tri-Parish Collaborative. To make arrangements for a baptism, please contact the parish office at 414-258-2604 - Email
Do you know that every child at Christ King receives a personalized embroidered baptismal stole when they are welcomed with great joy into our Christian community on the day of their baptism? Sharon Whittle, who embroiders these stoles, literally, helps these children “put on Christ” with these beautiful stoles. If you love to embroider and have an embroidery machine, Sharon would love to share this ministry with you. She is looking for other embroiderers who might be interested in helping make these precious stoles for our newest church members. If interested, please call Sharon at 414-475-6435 and she can share more about this important ministry.
Thanks for your consideration!
