The first and fundamental sacrament and the gate to the other sacraments, Baptism is the purifying and sanctifying sacrament of rebirth. It is the means by which its recipients are incorporated into the church in a sacramental bond of unity.
The Sacrament of Baptism welcomes a person into our faith and our community. Parents and godparents promise to raise their children in the faith of Jesus Christ, and start to actively live their faith as a model for their children.
Baptisms are celebrated on the first weekend of each month during any Masses, as well as after 10:30 a.m. Sunday Masses on the third and fourth weekends of the month. This schedule may vary depending on liturgical evenings. Baptisms are not scheduled during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
Parents attend one catechetical class, which is currently available as an online meeting.
Contact the Saint Bernard (414-258-4320) or Christ King (414-258-2604) office to start the process of scheduling a baptism.
