Learn About Christ King School

Christ King School at a Glance...

Our Campus

Christ King Parish School is found in the midst of a vibrant neighborhood surrounded by homes, businesses, and a nearby college campus. We are on the southeast corner of Center Street and Swan Boulevard (92nd Street), where Wauwatosa and Milwaukee meet, providing a convenient location to surrounding communities.
Thanks to generous donations to our recent Capital Campaign, Christ King has made some much-needed improvements to our parish and school campus, providing a safe and welcoming environment for students and families. Improvements include:
  • Gated parking lot
  • Interior and exterior safety cameras
  • Intercom door access
  • High-tech glass window coating
  • New laminate flooring
  • Fast, new laptops for each teacher, supported by an enhanced wireless network
  • State-of-the-art air purification systems in the classrooms
The enclosed campus buildings offer easy access to the parish for worship and other activities. The school and parish are both handicap accessible.

Our Mission
Christ King Parish School nurtures our children’s growth in the Catholic faith by teaching them to accept and respect Jesus in everyone they meet within an environment that cultivates academic excellence, encourages service to others, fosters leadership, and allows all students to develop their God-given talents.
Our School Community
Our School Community is led by Principal Grace Urbanski. Ms. Urbanski is an enthusiastic, faith-filled leader who comes to us with decades of education experience. She believes in the power of Catholic schools to transform students, families, and the surrounding community.
Our Faith Community
The school is served by Christ King Parish, under the leadership of Pastor Phillip Bogacki, Associate Pastor Fr. Michael Lawinger, and Deacon Peter Rebholz.
  • We offer weekly school liturgies, as well as grade-level prayer services.
  • Sacramental instruction is provided for second-graders preparing for Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
  • Various service opportunities are available within the school, parish and community. A service-hour requirement is in place beginning in 5th Grade.
Educational Excellence
We seek to help our students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually at all grade levels.
  • All faculty members are certified teachers, and most possess advanced education or Master's Degrees
  • We inspire learners from K3 through 8th grade
  • Every grade, from K4-8th, has two homerooms
  • The Middle School (6th-8th grades) benefits from individual subject teachers in all subjects
  • We follow rigorous curriculum standards set by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee
  • We embed Catholic teachings, practices, and culture into the curriculum and daily life
  • Our math and hands-on science curricula encourage curiosity and prepare students for high school
  • Teachers offer differentiated Instruction to serve students’ individual learning styles
  • Students enjoy the specialty subjects of Physical Education, Art, Music, and Library
  • Chromebooks and Smartboards integrate technology and learning
  • Measuring Academic Progress (MAP) tests in grades 2–5 help teachers target instruction and families track growth
Academic Achievement
Christ King students routinely score well above the national average on the Iowa Test for grades 3rd, 5th and 7th grades, as well as the MAP Test in grades 2-5.
Our latest MAP test showed that students in EVERY grade level exceeded state and national averages in both reading and math. In most cases, students’ scores exceeded Wisconsin’s average by more than 10 points and in some cases, by almost 20 points.
Nearly all students are accepted to and go on to attend local area Catholic high schools.
Several of our graduates have gone on to achieve Salutatorian or Valedictorian status at local area schools, to earn prestigious scholarships to college, and one has even been named a recent Rhodes Scholar.
Our graduates strive for success in the classroom and build habits of service to the community. In the safe, joyful atmosphere of our beautiful school, students are challenged to be engaged learners and prayerful young people.
Kindergarten Basics

Beginning with our youngest students, Christ King School instills a sense of calm, joy, and creativity in daily learning experiences within a nurturing and faith-filled atmosphere. The K3 program provides students with a solid Catholic foundation for all future learning through hands-on opportunities and play-based curriculum.

K3 is offered as a half-day morning program with two, three, and five-day options.

Students in K3 must be fully toilet trained before the first day of school. Fully toilet-trained children can do the following:

  • Tell the adult they have to use the bathroom BEFORE they have to go
  • Pull down their underwear and pants and get them back up without assistance
  • Wipe themselves after toileting without assistance
  • Get on and off the toilet without assistance (stools are provided if the toilet is too tall)
  • Postpone going if they must wait
  • Wear cloth underwear: no pull-ups or diapers are permitted
  • Use the toilet without a special potty chair
K4 & K5
Our K4 and K5 Kindergarten programs build on the foundational instruction of reading and math to help students grow in confidence and prepare for success in future grades.
  • Students begin to learn personal responsibility and routine, adding discipline and structure to their day.
  • Daily lessons are infused with faith, activity, music, and movement.
  • K5 and 1st Grade offers a Guided Reading program.
  • (Detailed curriculum guides for each grade level may be found through our online link to the Archdiocesan website.)

Family Expectations
Our goal is to enroll students at the earliest level from families who are invested in continuing their education at Christ King. We seek to build a community of active and engaged school families throughout their children’s educational journey.
Volunteerism is much needed, expected, and greatly appreciated. In addition to volunteering for recess, lunch and health room duties, families are asked to participate in the annual Soles for Catholic Education Walk, to support the Home & School Association, and to be active Parish members.
Extended Care Program
As a continuation of the Catholic, faith-based learning offered during the school day, our extended care program assists school families in safekeeping their children after school hours. Our welcoming and professional staff enhance this program with opportunities for study and play in a supervised setting.
Tuition Rates and Fees

As part of the spiritual mission of the parish, tuition costs are subsidized to make up for the gap in educational costs versus the tuition charged.

Families are asked as active parishioners to help close the gap voluntarily through regular participation in parish financial stewardship and parish life through consistent worship at Mass.

As a convenience to families, nearly all additional fees are included in the single tuition rate. An installment plan is available.

Annual tuition rates and any potential additional fees are detailed online.

Welcome to Christ King!
