From the Office

Wednesday Before Thanksgiving:  For several reasons, the School Committee, Father George and I have decided that there will be no school for students on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Rosary Club:  Rosary Club is back.  Thanks to Katie McNabb and Ann Baker, students in Middle School who wish to pray the Rosary weekly have begun doing so today during lunch hour in the Library.

Grandparents/VIP Day:  The students are eagerly waiting for the time on Friday when they will be with their special guest.  Special guests are asked to come to school after 12:40 and meet in the homeroom of the youngest child at Christ King.  Then all will go to church for the liturgy.  Further announcements will be given after the liturgy.

Registration for 2009-2010:  I am beginning to make projections for enrollment of new K4 students for next year.  If your child is ready and coming next year, please either call or e-mail to indicate attendance.

Magazine Prize Day:  Prizes will be awarded on Wednesday, October 29th, to all students and families who qualify.  Details will be given to the students on that day.  Thanks to all families who have sold magazines.  Remember you can order year round for this fundraiser and you will receive credit for it.

Profit Accounting:  As the profit per family reaches my mailbox, I am recording it on a master sheet for both the magazines and the gift wrap.  Once your quota of $100.00 profit is reached, I am returning your checks via mail rather than with your child.  If you have handed in your check and wanted a total buyout and your check has not cleared the bank, please e-mail me and I will deposit it immediately.   Otherwise, I have just been holding checks for the time being.

Box Tops:  Box tops from Target have special value.  If you are at Target, please shop a few items with the box top labels and send them to school by next Monday, October 27th, or Tuesday, October 28th, at the latest.

Student Council Representatives:  As was mentioned earlier, we are now listing the names of the student council representatives from each class.  5A - Grace C and Bryce D, 5B - Abby B and Truman T, 207 - Sam P, Ava A and Blaine K, 209  Leslie K, Shannon S and Thomas B, 213 - Annika M, Marena L and Katherine D,  216 - Allie K, Amy D and Jillian D, 218 - Haley H, Joe C, and Brenna M, 219 -  Margaret H, Joe K and Maggie W.

Congratulation and we are looking for great results with these members and the officers who were announced earlier.

Student Service Sheets:  Students in grade 5 through 8 should be recording their service hours.  The sheets need to be turned into their homeroom teacher on or before Thursday, October 30th.  Those who worked at the festival have their hours already recorded as handed in by their supervisor.  Students need to perform at least 5 service hours per quarter.

Adult Volunteer Hours:  All families who have done volunteer work so far this quarter are asked to turn in your sheets for record keeping purposes.  Recess, classroom help, health room and picnic have already been recorded.

“Respect Begins with Me” Tee-Shirt day is Wednesday, October 29th.

Maggie Bersch Foundation:  A big thank you to all students and families who took part in the classroom collection for “The Maggie Bersch Foundation” for Children’s Hospital.  A check for $246.25 will be presented to the Bersch Family.  Your efforts do make a difference!
