Catholic
Education and Catholic Social Teachings have been the backbone of my education,
attending St Rita Grade School in West Allis, Wisconsin and Pius XI High
School in Milwaukee. I graduated from Marquette University in 1981 with
a B.A. Major in Secondary English Education and minors in German and Education,
also on the Secondary Level.
Christ King School provided me with my first experience as a middle level
English teacher, which I prepared for at Pius XI High School. In 1984.I
was given a leave of absence at which time I accepted a position at a
college prep boarding school in Austria, teaching English and German.
I returned to Christ King and began teaching German as well as literature
and Composition. Throughout the years, my students have honored me with
nominations in “Who’s Who” and in 2000 I was awarded
a Kohl Fellowship for excellence in teaching, which I share with my student,
their parents, my colleagues, and the fantastic staff of Christ King School.
I currently teach Literature to 6th, 7th and 8th graders and accept responsibility
of a Middle School Homeroom. Christ King is truly a special place to serve
God through knowing, loving and teaching these wonderful young men and
women.
I take great stock in the words of Goethe, “Treat people as if they
were what they ought to be, and you will help them to become what they
are capable of being.” I believe that if I give my best to my students,
I will get the best from them. I expect and accept nothing less.
