Welcome
Parents and Children to Kindergarten!
Hopefully this will be a fun and exciting school year filled with adventures
and lots of learning. This is my fifth year at Christ King School teaching
the five year old kindergarten classes. Before teaching kindergarten I
taught first grade for seven years. I graduated from Alverno College in
1994 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood.
Teaching young children to see the gifts that God has given them can be
done in many different ways. It is my hope that throughout the kindergarten
year, your child will begin to understand his/her role in God's world.
The children will develop self-confidence as they begin to view themselves
as readers and writers. Reading is my passion. I love books. I love to
read and I love to teach children to read and enjoy books. I hope to share
my passion of reading with your children as they explore reading activities
in a guided setting.
I live in Wauwatosa with my husband Joe and two of our four children.
Our son Matthew will graduate this year from MSOE with a degree in business.
Andy will begin his freshman year at Marquette University. Mike and Sandy
attend Wauwatosa West High School. Our family shares many interests together
including, reading, music, website designing, walking, biking, snowmobiling
and scrapbooking. (Well at least the girls in the family like scrapbooking,
the boys like football.)
I look forward to meeting all the children and their families.
Please feel free to come up to the classroom throughout the year and share
in the different activities.
