I
am Betty Olszewski, the Science Teacher in the Christ King Middle School.
Originally from the Chicago area, I came to Milwaukee to attend Cardinal
Stritch University where I met my husband, Daryl.
Before teaching at Christ King School, I taught chemistry at the high
school level at St Mary’s Academy in Milwaukee. I then left teaching
for a time while I raised my two children, Rebecca and Daryl, Jr. I returned
to teaching at St. John the Evangelist School in Green field where I taught
5th – 8th grade science for eight years. I then taught at St. Rita
School in West Allis for the next seven years, teaching science to grades
7 and 8.
My daughter, Rebecca is now married and lives in Franklin with her husband,
Kevin. I have a fantastic grandson, Owen, who I enjoy babysitting very
much!
My son, Daryl, Jr. has graduated from Marquette Law School and is currently
working as a clerk for a federal judge here in Milwaukee.
I love teaching science. I teach with a great number of hands-on activities
that I hope will help keep the enthusiasm level for learning science very
high in the Middle School. Let’s continue to learn together and
enjoy science throughout the coming year!
