Hi,
my name is Amy Mikec. I work hard to create a classroom that is motivating,
engaging and geared towards different learning styles. I also believe
in building a classroom community focused on respect and responsibility.
Prior to beginning my teaching career, I worked in the fitness industry.
In 1991, I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in fitness and Recreation
from UW- Milwaukee. I worked several years as a fitness director, teaching
exercises classes, personal training, organizing fitness programs and
running youth camps and activities. After taking time off to begin a family,
I discovered that teaching was my true calling. I returned to school in
1999 to become licensed in elementary education. In 2006, I obtained a
Master’s Degree in Teaching from Cardinal Stritch University.
I reside in Menomonee Falls with my two children, Allison and Ben. I enjoy
spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy reading, biking,
traveling and playing board/card games.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year with the fourth grade!
