I have come full circle working at Christ King. I started out my education
here at Christ King when things were very different. There have been many
changes over the years and I think that is part of what keeps my job so
enjoyable! I earned a degree in Elementary Education and was working on
my School Library License. I was eager to begin teaching so I took a job
teaching fifth grade. I have also taught first and second grades. I left
teaching when my first daughter was born and became a stay at home mom
for a number of years. While we were living in Michigan, I had planned
on returning to school to get my masters in Library Science, but a transfer
back to Wisconsin changed all that. I was very eager to move back home.
When my son was in kindergarten, I began working part time in the Elmbrook
School District, working with emergent readers who were in need of some
extra help. I also substitute taught, was a classroom aide, and helped
out in the school library. When my youngest daughter started school at
St. Joe’s in Wauwatosa, I became the school librarian there.
I feel very fortunate to be working in the Christ King School Library.
I love being able to work with children of all ages. Everyday brings something
new and interesting. There are so many wonderful books out there, from
picture books to young adult literature. I never catch up o my reading!
Aside from being the school librarian and my many other duties, I am also
the Assistant Principal
