CHRIST KING SCHOOL NEEDS YOU…
YOUR CHILDREN NEED YOU TO BE INTERESTED IN THEIR SCHOOL…
There are four MAJOR times that we need many volunteers.
The Home and School Officers are asking your help in volunteering for any or all of the following activities as many hands make light work for all members of the school and parish:

September --- for the Clothing Resale. Volunteers are needed to:
Register sellers, sort clothing, assist with selling, clean up after the
sale and hand back unsold clothing and checks
November --- Toy Resale. Volunteers are needed to:
Register sellers, sort and arrange toys, assist with the selling, clean up
after the sale ad return unsold items.
March/April --- Christ King Social Volunteers are needed to:
Coordinate and work on various sections of the social such as general chairs,
raffle tickets, invitations, booklet, silent and oral auction, dinner,
gift gathering parties, publicity, web site updates, set up and clean up etc.
June --- Parish/School Festival Volunteers are needed to:
Coordinate the various areas in preparation for the festival, food, music,
games, publicity, security, web site updates, set up and clean up,
working at the festival itself, etc.


Birthday Bulletin Board --- design and put up the corridor birthday board once a year.
Bakers --- Bakery is needed for various occasions such as Coffee connection on Sundays, teacher appreciation luncheon, discovery day luncheon etc.
Book Fair --- Set up and sell books several times in late January or early February
Cavalier --- Assist with the publication of the School Newspaper.
Classrooms helpers --- Work with individual teachers as requested or needed.
Discovery Day --- coordinate and / or assist with planning the events of the day
and organizing food for the guests and faculty. Volunteer to share a talent, craft, or give a special presentation of interest to the students.
Fire House Safety --- Spend one morning here with the fire department. Grade 1 & 3.
Gift Wrap--- Coordinate the running of the sale with the Representative.
Gift Wrap Helpers --- Assist with checking and tallying the orders.
Gold C --- Assist with the distribution of these booklets to families
Health room --- Assist with sick or injured children 1 or 2 two hour shifts per month.
Hang Time --- Meet to coordinate periodic social events for Middle School and Religious Education Students
Hot Lunch --- Serve lunch to the students once or twice a month from 10:30 – 12:30.
Hot Lunch counters: Meets once a month to tabulate and count the money from student orders.
Home and School Officers --- Meet monthly as the Executive Committee with the Principal to
make decisions and keep a handle on the budget. (2 or 3 year term)
Ice Cream Social --- Serve ice cream on the night of Open House during Catholic Schools Week
Marketing Committee --- Meet periodically to brainstorm ways to market the school.
Market Day --- Coordinate the ordering process once a month.
Market Day Distribution --- Assist with the distribution of the food one Saturday a month for approximately three hours.
Sale QSP Magazine --- Coordinate the running of the sale, contact the representative etc
QSP Helpers --- Assist with the tallying of the orders in early September.
Playground Committee --- Meet periodically to assist in getting funding for a playground structure
Playground Supervision --- Help to supervise the playground from 10:00 -10:30 once or twice a month.
Playground & Lunchroom Supervision --- Help to supervise the lunchroom and then accompany that same group outside either from 11:45- 12:30 or from 12:10 – 12:50 once or twice a month.
Pool Party --- Arrange for a pool party at Greenfield park in late summer. Reserve and collect money in mid May
Room parent --- assist the classroom teacher in organizing what ever is requested.
School Committee Member --- Discerned in May for a three year term. Meets monthly with the principal to advise on various issues and determine the yearly school budget.
Scout Leaders --- Parents are needed to lead various scout troops and dens during the year.
SCRIP --- Tabulate orders on two Tuesdays a month or fill orders on the following Friday. Time usually begins at 7:30 A.M. and work until finished. (About 2 hours each time)
Spirit Wear --- Organize and carry out the sale of school spirit wear two or three times a year.
Traffic Patrol --- Help direct traffic on the playground once a month from 7:15 -7:45 AM.
Uniform Resale --- Coordinate the selling of uniforms in June and again in August. Sort and display the lost clothing at least three times a year.
Welcome Committee --- Arrange for and welcome new members into the school family.
Wireless folders --- Meet on Tuesdays at 1:00 to assemble materials for the folders. This is an on call group. (Since the Wireless is on line, only attachments will need to be assembled when they are available.)
