Welcome to the 2008 - 2009 school year. We, as a staff, are excited to be working with you and your children. Together we can form a partnership to bring the best education to your sons and daughters spiritually, academically, and socially.

This year the school theme will be "We can make a difference." During the first quarter, the staff will be working with the students to make a difference in themselves and in the school. Watch the school bulletin boards as the theme is developed.

The Archdiocese is really embarking on celebrating the Catholic identity of our Catholic Schools. At Christ King, we also want to work in partnership with the Archdiocese. The most visible way of doing this is to worship and celebrate together as families in prayer and service to others. You will continue to hear more about this as the year goes on.

This is an exciting year for us as we apply for accreditation from the Archdiocese, as well as from the state. On November 20th a team of educators will be at our school all day to validate our documentation and offer commendations as well as recommendations.

As you enter the school building, you will see our school mission statement to the right of the main door. You will also see butterflies surrounding this statement. The staff members are represented by the butterfly as we influence the students under our care. See the specific qualities of teachers as represented by their unique butterflies.

During these first weeks of school, there are many forms to fill out and things to read. I thank you in advance for reading, signing and returning all materials in a timely manner. As the year progresses, please stay in close contact with your child's teachers. Communication is the key to success.
