Welcome to 3B!

 

Subjects:

  • Math: rounding to the nearest tens and hundreds using a vertical number line, add measurements using the standard algorithm to compose larger units once, addition timed-test (need 90 out of 100 to pass)  
  • Reading: topic, details, main idea, summary, vocabulary words, story comprehension, genre fables, chapter book: No Talking, reading stories Penguin Chick and I Wanna Iguana       
  • Language Arts: weekend journal, fall fable, paragraph of the week, nouns, cursive writing
  • Spelling: word work, weekly spelling test 
  • Science: the scientific method, weekly experiments, life cycles    
  • Religion: prayer, weekly Mass, the 7 sacraments, Jesus teaches us to pray, Jesus shows us how to forgive and heal                                                                      

 

In Science classes last week, students were challenged with buliding the tallest free-standing structure out of spaghetti noodles and tape.  A marshmallow had to be placed at the very top, so the height of their structure could be measured for a class compettion.  Things got a little "sticky!"
