K3 Program

The mission of the K3 program at Christ King School is, “To be a witness of Christ, as we educate our children to recognize, accept, and respect Jesus in ourselves and others.”

Description

The three-year-old kindergarten program (K3) at Christ King School is a fun, creative, and friendly way to start your child’s school experience. We provide a nurturing, caring, and faith-filled atmosphere in which students gain self-confidence, develop friendships, and learn about the world around them. Through play, song, and age-appropriate structured learning, students develop independence, a sense of self, and a love of learning. Our program fosters personal and emotional growth, social and motor skill development, physical movement, fine arts, health and safety skills, as well as language development and listening skills. The K3 program provides students a solid academic and Catholic faith foundation for all future learning through hands on experiences and intentional play-based curriculum, a sense of wonder and curiosity aimed at developing the social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual aspects of the whole child.
K3 students participate in a curriculum that includes learning centers and activities focused on religion and reading & math readiness skills. Additionally, science, social studies, music, art, physical education, and computer education are woven into the curriculum. K3 students learn about themselves and all of God’s great earth through intentional play. The Catholic faith and practices are integrated into each day’s activities as children engage with classmates and Christ King faculty members in a faith-filled, exciting, and safe environment.
The guiding principles of Christ King School’s K3 program align with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) and incorporate numerous activities appropriate for their age level. Specialty areas classes are also a part of the K3 program. The approach and philosophy for K3 education at Christ King School is organized around the virtues of “faith, hope, and love.” These virtues are woven into these three broad categories throughout the year: “Heart, Hands, and Mind.”
